Pilatyuk, Igor Mikhailovich

Igor Mikhailovich Pilatyuk (born June 16 [1] [2] [3] 1954 in Buchach ) is a Ukrainian musician (violinist), conductor, teacher, cultural and public figure. People's Artist of Ukraine (1999), Professor (2001, Full Member (Academician) of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine (2017).

Biography

Born in the family of amateur musician Mikhail Vasilievich Pilatyuk and his wife Stefanie Petrovna (nee Matsenko).

In 1961-1969 he studied at the Buchach school (now the Buchak gymnasium named after V. M. Gnatyuk); He also graduated from the Buchatsky School of Music (violin class, teacher - Lyudmila Lysko [4] ). In 1969 he entered the Ternopil College of Music, which he successfully graduated in 1973. In the same year, he became a student in the inpatient department of the Lviv State Conservatory named after N.V. Lysenko . In 1978 he graduated from the conservatory, began working as a teacher at the Ivano-Frankivsk Music College named after Denis Sichinsky.

In 1985 [5] he organized Harmonia Nobile , Ivano-Frankivsk Chamber Orchestra at the Regional Philharmonic Society, artistic director and conductor until 1996. In 1991-1992 and 1994-1999 he was a senior lecturer, assistant professor of the violin department of the National Music Academy named after P.I. Tchaikovsky . In 1992-1994 - senior lecturer at the Higher Music Institute. N.V. Lysenko. He also worked as the head of the violin department at the secondary specialized music boarding school.

In 1999 he became rector of the Higher Music Institute, since 2007 - the National Music Academy (NMA) named after M.V. Lysenko in Lviv , currently continues to occupy the post. People's Artist of Ukraine. Since 2001 - professor of the violin department of the IA.

As a musician, he has a large number of stock records on radio and television.

As a conductor, he performs in Ukraine and abroad with various creative groups, in particular, the Trembita Honored Chapel of Ukraine, the Lviv Chamber Orchestra, and the Symphony Orchestra of the NMA them. N. V. Lysenko, chamber orchestras "Academy", Harmonia Nobile .

As a teacher, he successfully implements his own methods for preparing violinists; constantly attracts its pupils to participate in various concerts and competitions. More than 30 of his pupils, including the children of Igor Pilatyuk: Anastasia [6] and Nazar [7] - laureates of international competitions.

May 8, 2014 was one of three candidates for the post of rector of NMA named after M. V. Lysenko, scored about 60% of the vote "for" [8] .

After the Orange Revolution, it was criticized by the Maidan-Inform-Lviv Internet resource [9] . After Euromaidan, a group of graduates of the Lviv National Music Academy named after N. Lysenko wrote an open letter in which she called on Pilatyuk to refuse to participate in a concert in memory of “ Heavenly Hundreds ” [10] .

Pilatyuk is the author of the textbook Repertoire for Student Chamber Orchestras, dozens of scientific articles, more than 40 orchestral translations. He defended his thesis on the violin work of Miroslav Skoryk in 2003 [11] .
