The idea of ​​creating the book came to editors , M. Blini and I. Stewart as an inventory of the achievements of economic theory for 1991, taking into account the contribution in each of its sections with related scientific disciplines [1] .

The Russian translation and publication of the book was released with the support of the Open Society Institute (Soros Foundation) as part of the Pushkin Library project [1] .
