Biography
He was born on December 9, 1913 in a peasant family in the village of Velikoye Selo of the Zaslavsky volost of the Minsk district of the Minsk province (now the Minsk district of the Minsk region of the Republic of Belarus). Byelorussian.
He graduated from grade 4 of a rural school. From the age of 11 he was hired by fists, grazed cattle.
He began independent labor activity in 1928 as a lumberjack in forestry in his area. In 1930-1932 he worked on the Stalin collective farm in his village. In 1932 he enlisted for a construction site in Central Asia, where for two years he worked as a digger in Tashkent .
In 1934 he came to Donbass. The miner began his career as a wagoner at the Kaganovich mine (now part of the city of Krivoy Rog , Dnepropetrovsk region). Then he worked as a stoner at mine No. 9 “Capital” in the city of Stalin .
In 1936 he was seconded to the Coal Basin near Moscow, where he entered work as a bulk picker at mine No. 18 of the Bolokhovugol Trust (Tula Region). He worked at this mine as a slaughterer, foreman, assistant to the head of the site, and the head of the site before the start of World War II.
In September 1941, he was evacuated to the east, worked as the head of the site at the mine of the Vostoksibugol Trust in the city of Cheremkhovo (Irkutsk Region). But six months later, in April 1942, he returned to his mine near the Moscow Region basin. Subsequently, he worked as head of sections of mine No. 20, and as head of mine No. 1.
In May 1946, he was appointed head of the mine section No. 3 of the Skuratovugol Trust (Krasnogorsk District, Tula Region). The site was the first in the plant to start working on a schedule providing for coal mining not in three, but only in two shifts; the third shift is preparatory. Coal mining at work has increased in a new way. The average daily coal production in 1947, compared with 1946, increased by 80%, in 1948 - by 150%. Labor productivity as the basis of the category of underground workers - bulk pickers increased in 1347 by 13%, in 1948 - by 17%.
The Pashkevich site was distinguished by a high industrial culture: the workings were fastened solidly, technically sound, drifts were well lit and dry, drainage ditches were dug everywhere where necessary; always working mechanisms work flawlessly and non-stop, there are no delays and forced downtime.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of August 28, 1948 for outstanding successes in increasing coal production, restoration and construction of coal mines and the introduction of advanced working methods that ensure a significant increase in labor productivity, Vasily Vasilyevich Pashkevich was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the gold medal " Hammer and sickle".
He continued to work as the head of sections at the mines of the Tulaugol plant. From March 1949 - at mine No. 9, from December 1953 - at mine No. 21, from March 1954 - at mine No. 68. In February 1964 he went on a well-deserved rest.
In the same year he moved to the city of Zheleznovodsk, Stavropol Territory. He died on March 24, 1988 .
