Olga Mikhailovna Skachkova (1921–1993) was a mining foreman at the mine No. 7-7 bis of the “ Side Anthracite ” trust of the Lugansk Sovnarkhoz, Hero of Socialist Labor .

Biography
Born on June 18, 1921 in the city of Taganrog, Donetsk province, Ukrainian SSR (now Rostov Region) in a working class family. Russian. In 1923, the family moved to the village of Bokovo-Anthracite (now the city of Anthracite of the Luhansk region). In 1937 she graduated from the 7th grade of an incomplete secondary school at the mine No. 8-9, in 1939 - the factory apprenticeship school.
Since March 1939, she entered the work of mine No. 8-9 as a chamberlain. With the outbreak of World War II, when in September 1941 the mine was evacuated, stayed at home, kept the household. In March 1942 she voluntarily left for the Red Army, was a civilian washerwoman in one of the units of the Southern Front.
In October 1943, after the decision to return the miners to the enterprises was issued, she returned to the mine. In December 1943, she was taken into the mine No. 6-10 of the Bokovoanthracit trust by a bulk picker. Organized a brigade of women-housewives in bulk. In February 1948, she was transferred by a mining foreman to mine No. 8-9.

In 1957, the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR prohibited the use of women's labor in underground physical work in the mining industry, but Skachkova continued to descend into the mine.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 7, 1960 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of International Women's Day, Olga Mikhailovna Skachkova was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor with the Order of Lenin and the Hammer and Sickle gold medal for outstanding achievements in work and especially fruitful social activities.
In the future, she worked underground for several years: she was an underground mining foreman, dispatcher, and for a short time - a telephone operator on the surface. In 1965, she switched to the Tsentralnaya mine by a mining foreman of a ventilation service site. In April 1969 she retired.
Since September 1976 - pensioner of national importance. She lived in the city of Anthracite. Died in 1993. She was buried in the cemetery of the village of Nagorny of the city of Anthracite.

She was awarded the Order of Lenin (03/07/1960), medals, including "For Labor Distinction" (09/22/1953).
