History
The theater was organized in 1938 as a touring team of puppeteers . The repertoire included performances: “Brown Plague”, “Big Ivan”, “Hitler's Dream”. During World War II, the theater was transformed into a front-line concert brigade and performed with an anti-fascist program. After the war in 1949, the theater closed and only in 1963 did it resume its work as a stationary regional puppet theater.
The first performance after the second opening of the theater - “Snegurkina School” took place on January 6, 1964 in the building of the Barnaul Philharmonic . Since 1970, the Puppet Theater has been housed in a building on Pushkin Street .
In 1972, the theater participated in a show of puppet groups in Moscow, where the performance “Malchish-Kibalchish” received an award, and the doll Malchish was then on display in Japan.
Repertoire
In the modern theater there are performances for preschoolers, younger students and adolescents; sometimes adult productions take place. The theater is guided by Russian fairy tales and foreign classics: “The Wolf and the Seven Little Kids”, “Amazing Concert”, “The Frog Princess”, “Little Red Riding Hood”, “The Little Mermaid”, “The Kid and Carlson”, “Star Boy” and others.

The theater troupe employs L. I. Pavlova, O. P. Kravchenko, D. Ambartsumova, V. Sanarov, V. Ulanov, N. Pozdnyakova, V. Bakhareva, A. Gorbunova, E. Plotnikova, A. Sizikov.
Awards and Prizes
The achievements of the theater over the past years have been confirmed by various awards, including the last from Aman Tuleyev for his contribution to the development of theatrical art ( 2007 ) [1] .
