Hairy hairy ( Latin: Eriochloa villosa ( Thubg ) Knuth .) Is an annual weed that is difficult to separate in wheat crops. The stems are straight, knotted, up to 50–80 cm tall. Leaves up to 7 mm wide, fibrous root. Inflorescences from brush-shaped branches are almost linear, since the brushes are located one under the other. The axis of the inflorescence with silky hairs, almost covering the spikelets.

Weed of the middle tier, reaching the height of crops. The remaining seeds from the autumn do not give seedlings. Well sprout from a depth of 4-7 cm.

Seeds - spikelets ovate, boneless, compressed, pointed in the upper part, more obtuse to the base. Spikelet scales (two) are thin, leathery and cartilaginous. Three sharply protruding ribs pass along both scales, gradually converging at the apex. The heel is squeezed, cartilaginous, sharply protruding. The surface of freshly harvested spikelets is slightly pubescent, glabrous, slightly shiny. Coloring yellowish-greenish, often with faint spots. Length 3.75–5.5 mm, width 2–2.5 mm, thickness 1.75–2.5 mm. The weight of 1000 spikelets is 4–5 g. 1 kg of them contains up to 200 thousand.

Grain is membranous, ovoid. Floral scales leathery, shell-shaped. The outer scale covers the inner, transversal. The surface is bare, shiny. The color is lemon green. The length is 3-5 mm, the width is 1.63–3.25 mm, and the thickness is 1.5–2.25 mm. Grain oval, slightly compressed, finely punctate, greenish. The embryo is clearly visible. Length 2.75–3.75 mm. One plant forms 200-500 seeds. Sowing material is spread by spikelets, less often - by filletous grains. Shoots appear in the second half of May, blooms in late June and ripen with spring breads [1] .
