History

For the first time, the idea of celebrating Moscow Transport Day was expressed by representatives of large city public organizations , after which Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin proposed to the Moscow City Duma to amend the law “On the holidays of the city of Moscow”. The holiday was approved on March 1, 2017. The date was timed to coincide with the 145th anniversary of the launch of Konka , the first public transport in Moscow on July 7, 1872 [3] . According to the executive director of the Association for the Promotion of the Transport Industry "Transport Association of the Moscow Agglomeration" Norayra Bludyan, a similar date could affect the interest of Muscovites in the transport system of the city [4] .
