On August 10, 2017, Netflix extended the series to a second season of ten episodes [4] . On August 20, 2018, the series was extended for the third season [5] .

Content
Story
Los Angeles, 1985 Unemployed actress Ruth Wilder, along with dozens of women, receives an invitation to listen to a television show about women's wrestling . She immediately has a conflict with the show's director Sam Sylvia because of her habit of replaying in the ring. There are more problems when her best friend and former soap opera star Debbie Egan discovers that her husband cheated on her with Ruth. This quarrel instantly makes girls the stars of the show [7] .

The series "Shine" was highly praised by critics before the premiere. On the site-aggregator Rotten Tomatoes series holds 94% of "freshness" [17] . On Metacritic , the show’s rating is 81 out of a hundred, based on 37 critical reviews [18] .
