Georgy Nikolayevich Vorozhtsov (born 1935) is a Soviet and Russian chemist . Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1990; since 1991 - the Russian Academy of Sciences ).

The son of Nikolai Nikolaevich Vorozhtsov (younger) and the grandson of Nikolai Nikolaevich Vorozhtsov (senior) [1] .

Biography
Born on November 7, 1935 in Leningrad.
In 1958 - graduated from the D. I. Mendeleev Moscow Institute of Chemical Technology [2] .
In 1968, he defended his thesis, topic: "3,4,9,10-Antanthronetetracarboxylic acid and 6,12-dimethyl-3,4,9,10-Anthantentetracarboxylic acid" [2] .
In 1984 - defended his doctoral dissertation, topic: "New reactions in the series of 8,8'-substituted 1,1'-binaphthyl" [2] .
In 1990, he was elected a corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences [2] .
In 1994 - awarded the academic title of professor [2] .
Scientific Activities [2]
Key research areas and achievements:
- developed synthesis routes and synthesized a number of different acids and their compounds and investigated a number of their properties and transformations;
- created a class of cubogen dyes and methods for their specific use by different methods of dyeing and printing (cubogenes of scarlet, violet and other colors);
- received water-soluble dyes and based on them developed ultrathin selective polaroids, insulating coatings;
- created heat-resistant polymers and other materials;
- developed a technology for a number of dyes and intermediates.
