Monument to the hetman Sagaidachny ( Ukrainian Monument to the hetman Sagaidachny ) - a monument to the Ukrainian hetman Petro Sagaidachny , originally installed on June 14, 2008 in the Gagarin district of Sevastopol to celebrate the 225th anniversary of the city [1] . The author of the monument is sculptor Vladimir Lutsak. The main sponsor of the project was the head of the Transcontinental association Yuri Kolesnikov [2] . Residents of the city nicknamed the monument "dancing hetman."

After the annexation of Crimea to the Russian Federation on March 25, 2014 in Sevastopol, it was decided to dismantle the monument to the hetman Pyotr Sagaidachny , installed in Omega Bay. The initiator of the demolition was and. about. Governor of the city Sergey Menyaylo, who had previously told reporters that the monument has no historical value for the city [3] .
Later, negotiations were held at the initiative of the Kharkov mayor, as a result of which they managed to convince the Sevastopol authorities to transfer the monument to Kharkov. At the site of the future monument, a capsule with a memorable text was laid in its base [4] .
On August 22, 2015 in Kharkov, the opening ceremony of the monument to the Cossack hetman and chieftain Pyotr Konashevich-Sagaidachny, which after the accession of Crimea to the Russian Federation was removed from Sevastopol [1], took place .
