Physical-geographical characteristic

The village is located in the steppe, in the Low Trans-Volga region, on the eastern bank of the Volgograd reservoir [2] , at an altitude of about 40 meters above sea level [3] . The terrain is flat, the coast is steep [2] . Brown soils [4] .

The distance to the village of Ilovatka is 6.9 km, to the district center of the village Staraya Poltavka 61 km, to the regional center of Volgograd - 260 km, to the nearest large city of Saratov - 150 km [5] .

Belokamenka, like the whole Volgograd region, is located in the MSC + 1 time zone ( Samara time ). The offset of the applied time relative to UTC is +4: 00 [6] .

History

As of 1890, the village belonged to Novouzensk district of the Samara province [7] .

Since 1922, the village is part of the Volga Germans Autonomous Region . From 1924 to 1927 - as part of the Rivne (Zelman) canton of the Volga German Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. By the Resolution of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of the RSFSR No. 124 of December 6, 1927 “On changes in the administrative division of the ASSR NP and on the assignment of former names to German villages that existed before 1914” the village was included in the Staro-Poltava canton . Since 1935 - as part of the Ilovatsky canton. In accordance with the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of September 7, 1941, the Ilovatsky canton of the Volga German Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic was transformed into the Ilovatsky district and incorporated into the Stalingrad region [8] [9] (since 1961 - Volgograd)).

In the 1950s, in connection with the construction of the Volga Hydroelectric Power Station and the filling of the Volgograd reservoir, the village was transferred to a new place (until the transfer, the village was located on the bank of one of the Volga Eriks about 4 km north-west of the modern place [10] ). In 1963, in connection with the liquidation of the Ilovatsky district, the village was transferred to the Nikolaevsky district of the Volgograd region [9] . In 1964 - in the Staropoltava region [11] .
