As If It's Your Last

In mid-May 2017, YG Entertainment announced a BLACKPINK comeback to be held in June, ^[2] and already on June 5th, information appeared on the filming of the video clip. ^[3] On the same day, Yang Hyun-seok confirmed the June comeback; the band's first release since the release of the second single, Square Two, in November 2016. ^[4] On June 6, the approximate release date was announced - from June 15 to June 20. ^[5] On June 13, the exact release date became known - June 22. ^[6] From June 16 to June 18, the individual teasers of each participant were presented. ^{[7] [8] [9]} On June 19, the name was announced - “As If It's Your Last”. It also became known that the single will be a gift for fans before the release of the new single album Square Up . ^[10] On June 20, the teaser for the video on the BLACKPINK channel on YouTube and in Annex V was published. ^{[11] [12]} The next day a video from the shooting was published and it was reported that the group would hold a show on the day of the single's release. ^[13]

During the first day, the video clip scored over 13 million views, becoming the most watched video clip of both male (previously the record belonged to BTS ) and female groups (the previous record belonged to Twice ) and the second most watched Korean clip after “ Gentleman ” Psy . ^{[14] [15]} Dance practice was published on June 24th. ^[sixteen]
