Pripyat military flotilla

The Pripyat military flotilla is one of the formations ( flotilla ) of the RKKF , deployed in July 1919 for operations on the Pripyat River in order to support the troops of the 16th Army of the Western Front in the Turov area [1] [2] .

The flotilla was completed at the expense of the disbanded Peipsi military flotilla and local boats; its main base was the city of Mazyr [1] [2] .

Initially, it included a control, one steam boat , five armed steamboats, seven motor boats and two barges [1] [2] . The number of personnel reached 273 people. Subsequently, the flotilla was replenished with two armored boats , and some of the ships were armed with small-caliber artillery [1] [2] .

The Pripyat military flotilla was engaged in the protection of navigation on the Pripyat River, carried out expeditious transportation and fought against gang units in the rear of the Soviet units [1] [2] .

In early September 1919 it was transferred to operational command of the 12th Army , and on September 13, 1919 it was disbanded by order of the RVSR [1] [2] . The shipboard composition of the flotilla on September 26, 1919 was transferred to Gomel and introduced into the Dnieper military flotilla [1] [2] .
