Service
These obsolete guns with bronze barrels and without recoil devices no longer met the requirements of the First World War in firing range (5000-6100 m, depending on the type of projectile) and rate of fire. For example, a Russian 122-mm howitzer could shoot grenade and shrapnel at a distance of 7680 m, and 10 cm FH M 99 - only at 6100 m, and shrapnel only at 5500 m. In an emergency, Austria-Hungary had to rearm their howitzer batteries on howitzers Škoda 10 cm Vz. 1914 , which was, for its time, a beautiful light howitzer.
