Nikolai Andreyevich Davydov (born December 19, 1930 in the village of Bazavluk) is a Soviet and Ukrainian accordion player, art critic, and teacher. Doctor of Arts (1991), Professor (1983). Honored Artist of Ukraine (1994), laureate of the International Prize. S. Gulak-Artemovsky (2000).

Biography
In 1956 he graduated from the Kiev Conservatory (class M. Gelis [1] ) and graduate school with her (1962). He worked as a teacher of the button accordion, in 1956-1957 he led the orchestra of folk instruments of the Nezhin Pedagogical Institute ; in 1957-1959 he taught the button accordion and the methodology course at the Moldavian Conservatory. Since 1962 he has been working at the National Music Academy of Ukraine ( Kiev ): since 1975 - the head, since 1981 - professor of the department of folk instruments.
In the repertoire of Davydov's “ Carnival ” by R. Schumann , “Chaconne”. I. S. Bach , preludes by D. Kabalevsky , D. Shostakovich , rhapsodies by F. Liszt , cycle “ Seasons ” by P. Tchaikovsky . He is the author of theories of the formation of performing skills and transcriptions of musical works for the button accordion and accordion, as well as the first comprehensive National Program on Folk Instruments for Ukrainian musical universities (1995). He transcribed the accordion for the works of N. Paganini (24 caprices), B. Campagnoli (7 divertissements), A. Shtogarenko (Fantasy), G. Ernst (variations on the Irish song “Autumn Rose of Summer”), F. Vechea (“Cascade” ") And others. He was the author and presenter of the series of television programs" Folk Instruments "(1979-1980), music radio programs (2002). Editor-compiler and co-author of the collection "Musical Performance" (1999-2004), "Performing Musicology" (2005-2007; both - Kiev). Among the students are A. Dubin , A. Semeshko, P. Fenyuk, Yu. Fedorov, E. Cherkazova, I. Ergiev , A. Dubiy, V. Samoilenko, I. Zavadsky , I. Osipenko, A. Bulgarian, Yu. Bai [1] .
