Mehdiabad ( Persian مهدي اباد ) is a village in the north of Iran , in the Alborz island . It is part of the shahrestan Savodzhbolag . It is part of the Dehestan (rural district) Chekhardenge Bakhsh Chekharbag.

Geography
The village is located in the southern part of Alborsa, south of the Elburs Range, southwest of Keredzh , the provincial administrative center. The absolute height is 1276 meters above sea level [1] .
Population
According to the 2006 census, the population of the village was 18,234 people (9,554 men and 8,680 women). In Mehdiabad, there were 4,661 families. The literacy rate of the population was 75.69%. The literacy rate among men was 78.11%, among women - 73.03% [2] .
