Biography

Lyubov Sokolova came to volleyball in 1986, her first coaches in the Moscow school № 65 "Nika" were Vasily Romanenko and Lyubov Grigorievna Danilova. Professional career as a volleyball player began at CSKA in 1992. In 1995-1996, she played for the Rossi team (Moscow), and in 1996 she signed a long-term contract with Uralochka and made her debut with the Russian team at the Atlanta Olympics .

In the next five seasons, Sokolova played in the national championships of four countries, but in 2001 she was excluded from participation in international tournaments due to the refusal to return to her homeland. After the difficult negotiations of Sokolova and her husband, Turkish volleyball player Aitach Kilich with the coach of Uralochka and the Russian team Nikolai Karpol Sokolova had the opportunity to continue her career and moved to one of the strongest clubs in Italy - Bergamo [1] , with whom she won scudetto for three seasons (2004), the Champions League (2005) and the EKV Cup (2004).

Since 2004, Sokolova again began to speak in the Russian team. Karpol, realizing that the team, weakened because of the injury of Yevgenia Artamonova , experienced players were necessary for successful performance at the Games in Athens , went to the world and invited the volleyball player to the national team [2] . In Athens, Sokolova won the silver Olympic medal second in her career.

Taking a one-year time-out for the national team, Sokolova returned to the main Russian team in 2006 with Giovanni Caprara and spoke at the World Championships . In the match of the second group stage against the US team, she suffered a hip injury and, having missed the next game with the Brazilian women, was able to return to the decisive games. In the semifinals with Italy (3: 0), Sokolova showed 71% of the effectiveness in the attack, 92% of the positive reception. In the final against Brazil, Sokolova in the end of the fifth installment in the end of the fifth game against the Russians scored 11:13 and won the gold. According to the results of 2006, Sokolova was named by the European Volleyball Confederation as the best volleyball player in Europe.

In the 2006/2007 season, Sokolova contributed to the success of the Murcia 2005 team, which became the champion of her country for the first time, and in the Top Teams Cup finals, she beat the first club of Sokolova - CSKA [3] . After that, she returned to Russia and signed a contract with Zarechiy-Odintsovo . As a member of the Moscow Region team, Sokolova became the champion of Russia and the finalist of the Champions League. In the 2009/10 season, she performed in Italy at the Ezi Club.

In 2010, Sokolova in the Russian team for the second time in his career became the world champion . With its new club - Istanbul “Fenerbahce” - won the Turkish Supercup, Club World Championship and the Champions League 2011/12 [4] . After Fenerbahce, she spent one season in Ejaciahibi in Istanbul, in May 2013 she signed a contract with Dynamo from Krasnodar .

During the years of her career, Sokolova showed herself to be a universal volleyball player. Being in line with the pre-player, she had to compete in the libero position at the 2008 Grand Prix qualifying tournament [5] .

In May 2016, Sokolova announced her retirement [6] , but in December 2017 she returned to performances for Dynamo Krasnodar [7] . From July 1, 2018, she worked as the general manager of the team [8] , but in February 2019 she left this post [9] [10] and went to work at the sports agency Volley Service [11] .

For a long time she played in the Russian national team under the name of her first husband - Shashkov. After the wedding with Aitach Kilic, she became known to the fans of Italian and Spanish clubs as Lyubov Kylich, and for the Russian team at the request of the All-Russian Volleyball Federation took the maiden name - Sokolova [12] .

In 2008 she starred in a cameo role in the television series “ Happy Together ” [13] .
