History

In December 1963, the Central Committee of the CPSU approved a program for the development of the oil and chemical industries, which provided for the development of pipeline transport and the creation of additional production capacities in mechanical engineering to meet its needs.

In accordance with the 7th five-year plan for the development of the national economy of the USSR, the Krolevets Valve Plant was created and commissioned on the basis of the reconstructed Metalworking Plant “Metal” in the city of Krolevets in 1966.

In Soviet times, the plant was one of the leading enterprises of the city [1] [2] [3] [4] .

After the independence of Ukraine, the state-owned enterprise was transformed into a joint-stock company . In the context of the economic crisis and the severance of economic ties in the early 1990s, the situation of the enterprise was complicated.

In the spring of 1994, a Russian-Ukrainian agreement was concluded on settlements for oil and natural gas supplied from Russia by deliveries of products from a number of industrial enterprises of Ukraine on a barter basis. One of the participants in this program was the Krolevets Valve Plant, which manufactured pipe fittings for the Russian side [5] . In August 1997, another trade agreement was signed in Kiev between the Ministry of Energy and Electrification of Ukraine and the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of the Russian Federation on the development of industrial cooperation, expanding the product range of the Krolevets rebar delivered to the Russian side [6] .

Until the early 2000s, the plant was a city-forming enterprise [7] .

In 2000, the owners of the enterprise managed to transfer the assets of the plant to CJSC Krolevetspromarmatura, which in 2001 mortgaged them to the commercial bank Nadra in exchange for a loan of $ 1 million, as a result, in 2001 the plant stopped production and was declared bankrupt . In 2004, with the assistance of the Inter Car Group industrial investment group, Armprom LLC became the owner of the enterprise, the enterprise resumed production [8] , but in 2006 the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine confirmed the ownership of Nadra Bank to the plant’s property complex [9 ] . In June 2007, the bank decided to sell the plant for $ 2.2 million [10] .

The economic crisis that began in 2008 complicated the situation of the enterprise, but in the first quarter of 2009 the position of the plant stabilized [11] . In 2012, the plant was one of the largest operating industrial enterprises of the Krolevets district [12] .

Current status

The plant specializes in the production of industrial pipe fittings from steel , gray and malleable cast iron , non-ferrous metal alloys for water, steam, petroleum products, ammonia and other liquids and gases, and also manufactures castings from cast iron, steel, aluminum alloys, brass and bronze, and other metal products . The company's products are marketed under the brand name "KAZ".
