Petrov, Valery Georgievich (prosecutor)

Born in 1957 in the village of Nukuty, Nukutsky district, Ust-Orda Buryat-Mongolian national district .

After high school in 1974 he entered the Law Faculty of Irkutsk State University named after A.A. Zhdanov , which he graduated in 1979.

• In 1979-1983 - Senior Legal Advisor in the Department of Agriculture of the Nukutsky District Executive Committee.
• In December 1983, he joined the prosecution authorities of the Buryat Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic .
• In 1983-1984 - Work in the investigative department of the prosecutor's office of the Buryat Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.
• In 1984-1985 - Senior investigator of the prosecutor's office of the city of Ulan-Ude .
• In 1985-1987 - Deputy Prosecutor of the Soviet District of the city of Ulan-Ude.
• In 1987-1992 - Prosecutor of the Ivolginsky district of Buryatia.
• In 1992-1998 - Head of the personnel department of the prosecutor's office of the Republic of Buryatia.
• In 1998-2006 - Deputy Prosecutor of the Republic of Buryatia.
• From November 15, 2006 to June 28, 2017 - Prosecutor of the Republic of Buryatia.

On June 28, 2017, the Council of the Federation of Russia appointed Valery Petrov as Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation - Chief Military Prosecutor of Russia . ^[2]

In 2018 , the Chief Military Prosecutor Valery Petrov was inactive to the collective complaints of girls from Togliatti regarding the Ministry of Defense and the Russian Guard on sexual discrimination of women. In violation of part 6 of article 8 of FZ-59, the collective complaints of girls, the military prosecutor’s office under his direction redirected to the ministry of defense and the guard, who, by their departmental orders in violation of article 19 of the Constitution, banned gender-based contractual military service for female persons in the positions of shooter , sniper , driver , mechanic , tankman . Petrova's daughter Darima Valeryevna works as the deputy prosecutor of the Western administrative district of the city of Moscow.
