Suriname Football Championship ( Dutch SVB Topklasse ) is the top football division in Surinamese . Now there are twelve teams playing in the league, matches are held from November to June of the following year, each team holds only 22 games. Before the 2016/2017 season, the league was called Khufdklass, now Khufdklassa is the name of the country's second most important division.

The first season was held in 1924, when Suriname was still a Dutch colony .

History
At the beginning of the 20th century, the Dutch Football Association was founded; Surinamese Football Association was founded on October 1, 1920 . The first Surinamese club was Forwarts; Now the club is also in the top division of the country. On August 1, 2009, the club celebrated its 90th anniversary. On January 15, 1921, the Transvaal was founded.
In 2016, Hoofdklass was renamed Topklass. According to the state football development program in Suriname, the task was to create a professional league in the country, to improve the selection of players in the national team ; On September 30, 2016, the Surinamese Football Association signed a contract with Telesur, a telecommunications company in Suriname, under which the company received the rights to broadcast all matches of the Surinamese Football Championship.
