Alexander Anatolyevich Demyantsev (born February 1, 1979 ) is a Russian turner, a resident of Satka . In 2003, he was charged and convicted of raping and killing 2 teenagers, sentenced to 25 years in prison.

The Demyantsev case has caused a great resonance in Russian society. Since 2016, after the materials of the Demyantsev case went online , the convict's innocence was questioned.
For many years, Alexander Demyantsev was considered innocently convicted. The well-known journalist Vladimir Solovyov [2] defended Alexander. In 2012, the Commissioner for Human Rights in Chelyabinsk personally met with Demyantsev in the colony and promised to re-examine his case [3] .
In 2011, Pavel Sheremet, in his Sentence program, examined the case of Alexander Demyantsev. 12 amateur jurors could not come to an unequivocal opinion whether Demyantsev was guilty or not [4] . In the same year, Demyantsev’s case was considered on the program “ Battle of psychics ” [5] .
