Biography

Since 1810, he was appointed Governor of Fars Province and held this position for almost thirty-five years, having proved himself to be a worthy and respected ruler during this time.

Initially, he was considered the heir to the throne, Abbas-Mirza , who, during his reign, included in one of the treaties concluded with the Russian Empire a clause on the transfer of the inheritance of the crown through the male line of the clan. Due to the fact that one year before Feth Ali-Shah’s death in October 1834, he died, the latter appointed heir to the youngest seventeen-year-old son of Abbas Mirza, Mohammed Mirza , in pursuance of this clause. He was sent to Azerbaijan to govern this province. At the time of Feth Ali Shah's death, his eldest son was Hossein Ali Mirza Farmanpharm. In the province of Fars, he was honored and respected because, on his instructions, the tomb of Ahmad Ibn Musa, the son of the seventh Imam , known as Shah-Cherah, was restored and rebuilt. Thus, he managed to win love and respect among the population of Fars, after which he declared his rights to the shah's throne. Mohammed Mirza, crowned immediately after the death of Feth Ali Shah under the name of Mohammed Shah in Tabriz . [1] , sent Firuz Mirza with an army against his uncle. In this confrontation, Hossein Ali Mirza Farmanpharma's supporters were defeated, and he himself was sent to prison in Borj Nush. These events served as the basis for the establishment of the further rule of Mohammed Shah. Due to the difficult conditions of imprisonment, Hossein Ali Mirza Farmanpharma fell ill with cholera and died in Tehran in 1846.
