Yuri Nikolaevich Berezutsky (born August 8, 1956, Yegoryevsk , Moscow Region ) is a Russian politician, deputy of the State Duma of the 7th convocation , member of the United Russia fraction , member of the committee on information policy, information technology and communications [1] .

Biography
In 1978, he graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineer from the Khabarovsk Institute of Railway Engineers . From 1978 to 1984, he worked at the Khabarovsk Institute of Railway Engineers as a junior research fellow, teacher at the Department of Railway Power Supply. In 1987 he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of technical sciences at the Moscow Institute of Railway Engineers [2] . After receiving a degree, he returned to Khabarovsk, from 1987 to 1988 he worked at the Khabarovsk Institute of Railway Engineers as a senior lecturer, assistant professor. From 1989 to 1991 he worked as secretary of the CPSU party committee. From 1991 to 2006, he worked at the Far Eastern State University of Railway Engineering (the Khabarovsk Institute of Railway Engineers was renamed the Academy in 1993, and was named the Far Eastern State University of Railway Engineering in 1997) as a vice-rector for educational work, head of teaching management, vice-rector-assistant to the rector [3] .
In December 2000, he was elected to the Khabarovsk City Duma [4] . In 2004, he was re-elected deputy of the Khabarovsk City Duma in the single-mandate constituency No. 9 [5] [6] . In 2006, he resigned from office ahead of schedule in connection with the appointment of the Khabarovsk Territory by the Legislative Duma on the recommendation of the Governor as the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Khabarovsk Territory [7] . He worked as a human rights ombudsman in the Khabarovsk Territory from 2006 to 2016 [8] .
In September 2016, he ran on the lists of the United Russia party in the State Duma, following the distribution of mandates, he was elected as a deputy of the State Duma of the VII convocation [9] .

From 2016 to 2019, during the term of office of a deputy of the State Duma of the VII convocation, he co-authored 47 legislative initiatives and amendments to draft federal laws [10] .

Married, two children - daughter and son.
