Biography

Roman Martynyuk began to play volleyball from the age of 8 in the sports school of Alexander Tretyakov’s school in Perm city ​​with the coach Svetlana Viktorovna Okulova [1] . In the 2004/2005 season he made his debut with Perm Uralsvyazinform in the Premier League A, and in the summer of 2005 he was called up to the Russian junior team and won gold at the World Championships in Algeria under the leadership of Vladimir Kondra .

In 2006, Uralsvyazinform won the Premier League A championship and the 2006/07 season team, renamed before Prikamye, spent in the Super League. Roman Martyniuk took part in 23 championship matches. In July 2007, as part of the youth national team of Russia, headed by Vyacheslav Zaitsev , he won the silver medal of the World Cup in Morocco and was recognized as the best in the tournament in the defense game.

In the spring of 2009, Roman Martynyuk first entered the expanded composition of the Russian team [2] . In June of that year, in connection with the financial crisis in the Kama Region, he left the Perm team. Later, he played for Gazprom-Ugra , Iskra , Fakel and Belogorye . In August 2011, Roman Martyniuk won a gold medal at the Universiade in Shenzhen . On May 24, 2017 he made his debut in the Russian national team in the match of the qualifying tournament of the 2018 World Cup in Tallinn against the team of Montenegro.

In September 2017, as part of the Russian national team, he won gold at the European Championships in Poland . He performed in conjunction with Valentin Golubev , going out, most often, to an appointment. In July 2019, he won the gold of the League of Nations tournament with the Russian team.
