Teacher Mobilization Day in Iran

The history of this holiday is inextricably linked with the personality of Mostafa Chamran Savehi - an Iranian scientist, statesman and military figure. The day of mobilization of teachers coincides with the date of his death on June 20, 1981. ^[2] Mostafa Chamran was the Iranian defense minister immediately after the Islamic Revolution (1980–1981), as well as the commander of Iranian soldiers in the Iran-Iraq war of 1980–1988. ^[3] He was killed in the fighting in the village of Dehlaviye, Khuzestan Province , Iran. ^[four]

In Iran, Mostafa Chamran is deeply revered as a symbol of an ideologically and revolutionary Muslim who left academic career and prestigious positions (he was a professor at the University of California in the USA ) and migrated to Iran to help the Muslim military forces in Palestine, Lebanon and Egypt (he was head guerrilla groups). ^[5] In addition, he participated in the Islamic Revolution and was at the origin of the Amal movement in southern Lebanon . ^[6]

The best teachers of Iranian universities took various actions to develop new tools that could help the Iranian army free the country from the enemy.

After the war, the leaders of a semi-official organization met in 1998 - the first conference of the society was dedicated to Mostafa Chamran. On December 20, 2001, the Organization of Teacher Mobilization was approved by local authorities, and a month later it was officially approved by the President of Iran. ^[7]
