Anatoly Nikulin (08/21/1923, Saratov - 10/14/1996, Ryazan) - Soviet and Russian pharmacologist. Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor (1967). Rector of the Ryazan Medical Institute in 1961-1983. As noted: “It was during the reign of A. A. Nikulin that the Ryazan Medical Institute named after IP Pavlov turned into one of the largest and most prestigious universities in the country” [2] .

Biography
Born in the family of pharmacologist A. I. Nikulin (d. 1945) - Dr. med. Sciences, professors, head. the departments of pharmacology of Smolensk (1929-41), Perm (from 1942), North Ossetian (from 1944) medical institutes. The elder brother of A. A. Nikulin, Alexey Alexandrovich Nikulin (1921–91), was promoted to the rank of major general and honorary employee of state security [3] .
He graduated from the 3rd Smolensk secondary school and with honors from the Saratov Medical Institute (1946), before which he also studied at the Molotov (Perm) and North Ossetian medical institutes. Member of the CPSU since 1945 [3] .
After graduating from high school from 1946 to 1949, a graduate student in the department of pharmacology was there (under the supervision of K. A. Shmelev ) and in 1949 defended the candidate. dissertation In 1949-1950 assistant of the same department.
In 1950, by order of the USSR Ministry of Health, he was sent to a special assignment to Mongolia to organize at the University of Mongolia (Ulan Bator) a department of pharmacology, which he headed from that year until 1953.
Since 1953, Associate Professor, in 1959-1990. head of the department of pharmacology, then until 1992 its prof. and consultant. Also since 1954, deputy., In 1956-58. Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, from 1958 Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs. In 1961-83 Rector of the Ryazan Medical Institute named after IP Pavlov.
Under his leadership, effective preparations based on vegetable oils (sea buckthorn, plantain oil) were created, and combinations of biological preparations with chemotherapeutic agents were proposed to influence the tumor process. Apitherapy was one of the directions he developed under his direction [3] . A. A. Nikulin studied pollen and developed a drug based on it [4] .
In 1966 he defended his doctoral dis. Under the direction of A. A. Nikulin, 9 doctoral and 40 candidate dissertations were defended, including Academician E. A. Stroev and prof. D. G. Uzbekova , V. V. Dunaev .
In the elections to the member corps of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR, A. A. Nikulin didn’t have only 1 vote to elect [3] .

He was a deputy of the Ryazan City Council of People's Deputies. He was Chairman of the Council of Rectors of Ryazan universities, was elected Chairman of the Ryazan branch (and a member of the Central) Board of the All-Union Society of Pharmacologists, was a member of the board of the Soviet-Bulgarian Friendship Society.
He was a member of the editorial board of the journal Pharmacology and Toxicology.
He was buried in the sorrow graveyard of Ryazan.
In his honor in 1998, one of the streets of the city of Ryazan was named; there is his memorial plaque. In 2008, the bust of the professor (sculptor Raisa Lysenin) [3] was installed in the administrative building of the Ryazan State Medical University on the 85th anniversary of the birth of A. A. Nikulin.
In 2013, the All-Russian Scientific Conference “Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology: Scientific Readings” was held in Ryazan, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of Professor Anatoly Nikulin [5] .
In November 2018, the All-Russian Conference "Achievements of Modern Pharmacological Science", dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Professor A. A. Nikulin, was held at Razazmu. For this anniversary of the famous scientist released a collection of documents, memoirs and photographs “Dynasty. Nikulins ” [6] .
Two editions survived a collection of memoirs about Professor A. A. Nikulin [3] .
He was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor (1966), the Order of the October Revolution (1971), the medals "For Valiant Labor in Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of V. I. Lenin" (1970) and "Veteran of Labor" (1986), commemorative medals of the Bulgarian People's Republic “25 years of people's power” (1969) and “90 years since the birth of Georgy Dimitrov” (1973), a sign of the Higher School of the USSR “For excellent successes in work”, many diplomas.
Published more than 200 scientific papers, including 10 monographs, received 5 copyright certificates for the invention.
