Biography
The son of the court archpriest and confessor of Emperor Alexander I in Taganrog , where his father was the priest at the time [1] . He entered [2] from the St. Petersburg Theological Academy into the second branch of His Imperial Majestyβs Chancellery (1827) for education in the legal sciences. He was sent for an internship at the University of Berlin [2] (1831). After receiving a doctorate in law from the Imperial University of St. Petersburg, he was appointed (1835) a teacher of Roman law at Imperial Kharkov University . Approved as an extraordinary professor (1837) in the department of Roman law. Moved to the post of full professor in the eponymous department at Imperial University of St. Vladimir (1838). Transferred to the department of Russian civil laws (1842). Dean of the Faculty of Law (1840-1841 and 1848-1849). Censor of the Kiev Censorship Committee (1839-1851) [3] .
In addition to lectures on the occupied department, he taught international law, as well as boundary laws at the school of land surveyors, located at the 1st Kiev gymnasium. He wrote several scholarly works and published 2 volumes of "Acts Relating to the Civil Rebellion of Ancient Russia" (1860-1862). He worked hard on the study of ancient acts and documents stored in the central archive located at the University of St. Vladimir, in particular, was busy with a detailed analysis of the city and zemstvo books of Vladimir-Volynsky and extracted from them more than a hundred civil and criminal acts of the 16th century .
Produced in state councilors (1846). Awarded:
- Order of St. Anne 3 degrees (1840)
- Order of St. Anne 2 degrees (1845)
- Order of St. Anne 2 degrees with the imperial crown (1856)
- Insignia for 25 years of immaculate service [3] .
After the service of 30 years, he resigned (1861) with the appointment of a pension in the amount of a full salary and one fifth thereof.
