Biography
Born April 28, 1835 in a noble family of Lutheran religion. He was educated in the 1st cadet corps [1] .
In the imperial army from August 13, 1852, was an ensign in the Life Guards Jaeger Regiment . Participated in the Crimean War [2] . April 14, 1854 became a second lieutenant , December 6, 1855 became a lieutenant . In 1857 he graduated from the Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff and the Nikolaev Engineering Academy in the first category. From December 14 of the same year, a teacher at the Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff for drawing and shooting. He has been in this position for more than 50 years [1] .
