Yuliakshin Radik Mukharlyamovich ( Bashk. Radik Mukhurlәm uly Yuliaҡshin ; born May 17, 1989 , Ufa , the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic , the RSFSR , USSR ) is a Russian singer, also known under the pseudonym Elvin Gray . Sings songs in Bashkir , Tatar and Russian languages . Media of the Volga-Kama region call the singer "Bashkir Justin Bieber " [1] . Honored Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan (2017) [2] .

Biography

Radik Yuliakshin was born in Ufa into a Bashkir family. He became the second child in a family of builders, there is an older sister Regina. He graduated from the Bashkir Lyceum No. 48 in the Ufa district of Chernikovka [3] . In childhood, he learned to play the button accordion and kurai . Received higher education at Moscow State Pedagogical University .

On November 2, 2018, at a press conference in the Tatar-Inform news agency, he publicly announced that he was a Tatars [4] :

 I was born in Bashkortostan, my language is Bashkir, my spirit is Bashkir. 

Creative career

In 2006, he released his first solo album. Since 2011, lives in Moscow and performs under the pseudonym Elvin Gray (Alvin Gray).

In 2016, Radik Yuliakshin was declared the winner according to the results of the vote "Man of the Year of Culture of Tatarstan", conducted by the business electronic business newspaper of Tatarstan "Business Online". He shared this title with the conductor, artistic director of the State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan A. V. Sladkovsky . Two cultural figures won by a wide margin in the vote, which was attended by 2.5 thousand readers [5] .
