Geographical position
The village of Elizavetinka is located on the Oka-Don Plain on the Milchus River, 16 km northeast of the town of Shilovo . The distance from the village to the regional center of Shilovo by road is 20 km.
In the immediate vicinity of the village of Elizavetinka there are significant forests. To the north of the village are the tracts Slatina and Nozhka, to the east - the tracts Savina Ovrag, Solovyovka and Gar, to the south - the tracts Morozovka and Round Forest. The nearest settlements are the villages of Borovoye and Inyakino , the village of Usha .
Population
According to the 2010 census, 25 [1] people live permanently in the village of Elizavetinka. (in 1992 - 88 people [2] ).
Name Origin
Earlier, until the beginning of the XX century. the village was called Elisavetina. Mikhailovsky local historians I. Zhurkin and B. Katagoshchin believed that the village got its name because the landowner Elizaveta once lived in this area [3] .
History
According to I.V. Dobrolyubov , the village of Elizavetinka from 1829 belonged to the parish of the Assumption Church in the village of Inyakino , and by 1891 there were 35 yards in it. At the end of the XIX century. a starch and grater factory was opened in the village, nationalized after the October Revolution of 1917 and soon ceased to work. [4] [5]
