Titus ( Arabic: تيت ) is a small town and commune in southern Algeria , in the province of Adrar . It is part of Aulef County .

Geographical position
The city is located in the eastern part of vilayet, on the territory of one of the oases of central Sahara , at a distance of about 1090 kilometers south-south-west of the capital of Algeria . The absolute height is 309 meters above sea level [1] .
The commune of Titus borders on the communes of Timokten , Aulef , Akabli and In-Gar ( Tamanrasset vilayet). Its area is 1603 km².
Climate
The climate of the city is characterized as arid ( BWh in the Köppen climate classification ). Precipitation during the year is practically absent (average annual amount - 11 mm). The average annual temperature is 25.9 ° C [2] .
Population
According to the official census of 2008, the population of the commune was 4417 people. The proportion of the male population was 49.81%, of the female - 50.19%, respectively [3] . The literacy rate of the population was 92.8%. The literacy rate among men was 96.7%, among women - 89.3% [4] . 7% of Titans had higher education, 22.9% had secondary education [5] .
