Biography
He graduated from the Kiev College of Music, where he studied with the famous Czech violinist Otakar Shevchik [1] .
Subsequently, he worked as a military bandmaster, conductor of symphony orchestras in Kiev, Vilnius , and Riga . He taught at a number of Kiev music schools and at the Krasnodar College of Music. Among his students is the famous composer, conductor and teacher Reinhold Glier [1] .
In 1895-1902 he taught wind instruments at the Kiev Pechersk Gymnasium . From the 1902/1903 academic year he taught music at the Kiev Theological Seminary . Since 1903 he taught music (probably was a bandmaster) in the Kiev Cadet Corps . The following year he taught at the Music and Drama School of Nikolai Lysenko in Kiev (violin class) [2] . Since 1905 he worked at the Music and Drama School of Nikolai Ikonnikov in Kiev (instrumentation, orchestration, conducting, orchestral instruments).
Bandmaster of the 3rd Sapper Brigade in Kiev (second half of the 1880s — 1906). A military band under his leadership took part in summer park concerts. From October 1906 to January 1909, he was the bandmaster of the Kuban Military Symphony Orchestra (Black Sea Orchestra “Troops of Faithful Cossacks”). In 1909-1910 he was again the bandmaster of the 3rd Sapper Brigade in Kiev.
Since 1913 he worked as a conductor of the Symphony Orchestra in Vilnius [3] .
