Jean II ( Jean II d'Auvergne ), nicknamed "le Mauvais Ménagier" (d. September 28, 1404) - Count of Auvergne and Boulogne from 1386.

Son of Jean I d'Auvergne and Jeanne of Clermont, dame de Saint-Just.
In 1373 (August 11) he married Alienore de Commenge , daughter of Count Pierre Raymond II de Commenge and his wife Jeanne de Commenge . Since 1380, the couple lived separately. Daughter:
- Joan II (1378-1424), Countess of Auvergne and Boulogne.
In 1384, he rendered military assistance to Count Ampurias, his relative, who was besieged by King of Aragon Pedro IV . Along the way, he stopped in Avignon, where during a banquet at Cardinal Hugo de Saint-Martial, he was poisoned by his sister's husband, Raymond de Turenne. Jean II lost his nails and hair. According to modern concepts, these symptoms indicate lead poisoning in wine.
Jean II miraculously survived, but remained disabled for the rest of his life, including suffering from mental illness.
In 1386, he succeeded his father.
A year later, the Duke Jean of Berry , taking advantage of the insanity of Jean II, seized his possessions and in order to legalize this in 1389, he married his 11-year-old daughter.
Jean II left Auvergne and died in Paris in 1404. His will was written on July 26, 1394, and sometimes this day is considered the date of death.
Jean II is also known for selling the barony of Cambrail to Pierre de Giac.
