Description
Dragonflies are small in size, have a thin elongated body. Metallically shiny. At rest they keep their wings open. The mask in the larvae is spoon-shaped. Larvae and adult dragonflies are predators [2] . The genus was first isolated in 1815 by the English zoologist William Alford Leach [4] .
The name of the genus Lestes comes from the Greek word ληστησ, which means predator [5] .
