History
- The station opened on July 27, 1937 as part of the launch site of Lamotte Piquet - Grenelle - Balar , replacing the Lamotte Piquet - Grenelle - Port d'Otoy section , which became part of line 10 as a result of the reorganization of metro lines on the left bank of Paris.
- Passenger traffic at the station at the entrance in 2011, according to RATP , amounted to 2700300 people [2] . In 2012, this indicator increased to 2,785,357 people [3] , and in 2013, 2,814,912 passengers entered the station (194th place in terms of the incoming passenger flow in the Paris metro) [4] .
Design
- Due to the narrowness of Commerce Street, the station was built in the form of two successive station halls, solved according to the standard design, however, in each of the halls there is only one platform (there is a track wall in place of the second platform). In the northern part of the station there is a hall with a platform in the direction of Creteil, in the southern part - a hall with a platform in the direction of Balar [5] . Under the same project, twenty-six years earlier, the North-South company built the Liege station on its B line (now 13 metro line).
