José Santos González Vera ( November 2, 1897 - February 27, 1970 ) is a Chilean writer and literary critic. Winner of the 1950 National Chile Prize for Literature .

Biography
He studied at the Lyceum Valentin Letelliere in Santiago , did not finish his studies, leaving the Lyceum, earning a living working as an artist's apprentice, waiter, hairdresser, foundry worker, clerk, etc. in Valparaiso .
I got carried away by the ideas of anarchism . At the age of about 20 years became interested in literature. He became acquainted with the works of Maxim Gorky and the anarchist theorist Peter Kropotkin .
He became the founder and co-editor of the magazine La Pluma y Numen , collaborated with the newspaper of the Federation of Student Youth at the University of Chile , the magazine Atenea .
Creativity
The author of the novel “Alué” (1928, Russian translation of 1974), the autobiographical short story “When I was a Boy” (1956), the collection of short stories “Invisible Lives” (1923), the collection of essays “Eutrapelia” (1955), and the short stories “Copy and other originals ”(1961),“ Fear of loneliness ”, essay -“ Some ”(1959).
