History

  • The station opened on April 24, 1906 with the extension of the then line 2 South ( FR. Ligne 2 Sud ). On October 14, 1907, this section became part of line 5, and on October 6, 1942, it became part of line 6.
  • The passenger flow at the station at the entrance in 2011, according to RATP , amounted to 4739497 people [2] . In 2013, this figure increased to 4933269 passengers (87th place in terms of passenger input in the Paris Metro) [3]

Design and Design

The station was built according to the design of an elevated indoor station, similar to most elevated stations on line 6 (except Passy , Saint-Jacques and Bel-Air , located directly on the ground). The design of the canopy is similar to that used at the overhead stations of line 2, however, the project used on line 6 is characterized by the presence of a common roof covering the entire station complex.
