Biography

Born December 28, 1959 in the village of Ust-Sos, Beysky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory in a large family with ten children. His sisters - Inga , Lydia , Natalya and Tatyana , also became famous athletes.

In 1976 he graduated from Bondarevskaya secondary school of the Bei district, in 1983 - from the Krasnoyarsk State Medical Institute .

While studying at the institute, Andrey went in for sports. He became a master of sports of the USSR in sambo wrestling, a master of sports of the USSR in freestyle wrestling and a master of sports of the RSFSR in national wrestling. Two-time champion of Russia, bronze medalist of the championship and Cup of the USSR, winner of the All-Union Universiade among students, repeated medalist of championships and the Cup of Russia, winner and medalist of the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions, as well as multiple champion and medalist of international and All-Union tournaments.

At the end of his sports career, Andrey Karamchakov switched to coaching - for many years he has been the coach of the Russian national team and the head coach of the Republic of Khakassia in women's wrestling. He is vice president of women's wrestling of the Federation of wrestling of the Republic of Khakassia. [1] Director of the Abakan "Martial Arts School". [2]
