The Battle of Stok ( Polish: Bitwa pod Stokiem ) - a battle that occurred on April 22 ( May 4 ) - April 23 ( May 5 ), 1863 between a squadron of 40 horsemen of government troops under the command of Major Konstantin Rynazhevsky and Captain Tikhomirov, and Polish rebels from the detachment Major Ignatius Mystkovsky . It is part of the January uprising.

On the night of April 22 ( May 4 ) to April 23 ( May 5 ), 1863, a rebel detachment under the command of Ignatius Mystkovsky, with a total number of 900 to 1,200 men, ambushed the Russian squadron, including about 40 cavalrymen under the command of Major Konstantin Rynarzhevsky. During a fierce skirmish, the Russian detachment was completely defeated, having lost 32 people killed and 8 wounded including both commanders. Later, Rynarzhevsky sided with the rebels, and Tikhomirov was released under the word no longer participate in hostilities. The rebels lost in battle 6 people killed and 14 wounded. However, they captured significant trophies consisting of guns, revolvers, bullets and gunpowder. [3]
