Chubutisaurus (lat.) - genus of zauropod dinosaurs from the clan Titanosauriformes . Inhabited during the Lower Cretaceous era in South America . The typical and only species of Chubutisaurus insignis is described in 1975. Its fossils are discovered in the Cerro Barcino Formation and date back to the Albanian age . Closest to the genus Venenosaurus . As of 2015, Chubutisaurus was assigned to the Somphospondyli treasure [1] .
