Confederations Cup hat-tricks list

Spanish national team player Fernando Torres is the only footballer in the history of the Confederations Cups who scored a hat-trick twice

Below is a list of all the players who made hat-tricks for the Confederations Cups . A hat-trick in football is called three goals scored in one game by one player. Hat-tricks at matches of this tournament are relatively rare - for 128 matches in 8 tournaments, only 12 times one player managed to hit the goal three or more times per game.

The first hat-trick was recorded by Czech Republic player Vladimir Schmitser in a match against the UAE at the 1997 Confederations Cup . The author of the last hat-trick at the moment (including poker) is Uruguayan football player Abel Hernandez , who scored four goals in a game against the Tahiti national team during the 2013 Confederations Cup .

Spanish footballer Fernando Torres is the first and only player who managed to get a hat-trick on two Confederate Cups. The first - in the match against New Zealand in 2009 , and the second - in the game with the Tahiti team in 2013.

When the Confederations Cup was named after King Fahd (in 1992 and 1995), not a single hat-trick was issued. Since the founding of the current format of the competition in 1997, only in three cases there has been no hat-trick at the Confederations Cup: at tournaments in 2001 , 2003 and 2017 in South Korea and Japan , France and Russia, respectively. The record for the number of hat-tricks in one competition belongs to the 2013 Confederations Cup - four of them were issued.
