Hat-tricks at matches of this tournament are relatively rare - for 128 matches in 8 tournaments, only 12 times one player managed to hit the goal three or more times per game.

The first hat-trick was recorded by Czech Republic player Vladimir Schmitser in a match against the UAE at the 1997 Confederations Cup . The author of the last hat-trick at the moment (including poker) is Uruguayan football player Abel Hernandez , who scored four goals in a game against the Tahiti national team during the 2013 Confederations Cup .

Spanish footballer Fernando Torres is the first and only player who managed to get a hat-trick on two Confederate Cups. The first - in the match against New Zealand in 2009 , and the second - in the game with the Tahiti team in 2013.

When the Confederations Cup was named after King Fahd (in 1992 and 1995), not a single hat-trick was issued.
