Life and career

de Vigan wrote her first four novels at night, while during the day she worked at a public opinion research firm in Alforville . Her first published work, “Jours sans faim” (2001), was released under the pseudonym Lou Delvig, and she published all subsequent novels under her real name. [3]

A breakthrough was her work No et moi (2007), which won the 2009 Rotary International Award, as well as the prestigious Prix ​​des libraires French Award. The novel was translated into 20 languages, and in 2010 a film adaptation of the book, directed by Zabu Brightman, was released . [3] Following the success of this novel, de Vigan became a professional writer and devoted herself entirely to writing books.

In 2011, her novel “Rien ne s'oppose à la nuit” (“Nothing Holds the Night”), which tells about a family in which a woman has bipolar disorder, has won a number of French literary awards, including prix du roman Fnac ( 2011), prix Roman France Télévisions (2011), Grand prix des lectrices de Elle (2012) and Renaudot Prize (2011). The novel " Based on Real Events " was filmed. The director of the film of the same name was Roman Polanski , the main roles were played by Eva Green and Emmanuelle Seigner . The premiere of the film took place at the jubilee 70th Cannes International Film Festival out of competition.
