Abderrahman Fares ( Arabic: عبد الرحمان فارس ) is a statesman and politician of Algeria . In 1962, he served as president of the Interim Executive Council of Algeria.

Biography
Born January 30, 1911 in the Algerian city of Amalou . His parents were from Kabilia , led a modest lifestyle. Abderrahman Fares graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Algeria , worked as a notary. Then he held various posts in the public service in French Algeria . After the outbreak of the War of Independence of Algeria , Abderrahman Fares joined the National Liberation Front and from July 3 to September 20, 1962 served as president of the Provisional Executive Council of Algeria [1] .
After Algeria's victory in the Revolutionary War, Abderrahman Fares came into conflict with the country's first prime minister, Ahmed bin Bella . Abderrahman Fares was removed from the post of President of the Interim Executive Council of Algeria. In July 1964, he was placed under house arrest in the southern suburbs of Algeria . In June 1965, he came under the presidential amnesty of Ahmed bin Bella. After his release, Abderrahman Fares resigned from political activity and returned to work as a notary. He died on May 13, 1991 in Zemmuri [2] .
