History
The stadium was opened in 1935 as the home arena of the Sports Association of St. Eugene. Its architecture has made it one of the most beautiful stadiums of its time. In addition to football matches, the stadium hosted competitions in car racing , handball , motoball and other sports, as well as screenings of movies in the open [2] .
Initially, the stadium had only two stands - western and eastern. However, in 1957, a south stand was built, giving the stadium a modern look. At the same time, its capacity increased to 12,000 people [2] .
In 1981, during a major earthquake that occurred near the city, the stands were badly damaged, and a decision was made to completely destroy the structure by 2003.
