Description
Lake Azankol has a rounded shape, slightly compressed from the southwest to the northeast. Width 800 meters, length 1200 meters. The maximum depth is about 3 meters, the average depth is 1.7 meters [7] . The slopes to the water are smooth. There are no inflows and sources.
Blooming water (sometimes significant) is observed in early July, rarely in mid-June.
Historical background
The glacier advancing from the north created a backwater for the rivers of the Ob-Irtysh basin. For this reason, a giant fresh sea was formed. Subsequently, as a result of evaporation, this sea broke up into a number of large lakes.
Subsequently, large lakes partially dried up, partially decomposed into small ones, with varying degrees of mineralization. One of these lakes became Lake Azankol.
Fauna and flora
Fish - gold and silver crucian carp , minnow minnow , very rarely perch gets caught - in severe winters, it does not survive. The animal population of the lake is also represented by common ponds , dragonflies , bordered swimmers , etc.
The avifauna is represented by steppe gulls and birds of the wetland complex - ducks and geese .
Aquatic vegetation - a large plantain is found at the very edge of the water. Further in the water itself is the zone of reeds and common reeds . They form a zone around the lake in length of about three to five meters. The most common representatives of surface and underwater vegetation are hornwort , duckweed and others.
