Waldemar Ruin ( Fin. Waldemar Ruin ; July 25, 1857 , Suzdal , Russian Empire - March 10, 1938 , Helsinki , Finland ) - the Finnish classical scholar, professor and rector of the Imperial Alexander University (1915-1920).

Biography
In 1876 he received a secondary education and entered the historical-philological department of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Imperial Alexander University , which he graduated in 1881 with a bachelor's degree in philosophy. In 1886 he received his doctorate.
From 1882 to 1884, he improved his qualifications at the University of Leipzig , and from 1886 to 1887 at universities in Switzerland and Germany.
From 1887 to 1888 he worked as an adjunct professor of philosophy at Alexander State University, a professor of political science and a vice-rector of the university (1888–1926) and (1911–15). Rector of the University (1915-1920).
