Climate
The climate on the Costa Verde is significantly different from the climate in the more southern regions. However, due to the influence of the warm wind of Surad, the daytime temperature in summer can reach +28 ° C. Mountains protect residents and visitors of the coast from sudden changes in temperature.
Beaches
Although August is considered the hottest month of the year, the swimming season begins as early as June. Many tourists come here not only for a beach holiday and sightseeing, but also for surfing, diving and other water sports.
Cities
The capital of Asturias is Oviedo . About 30-40 km from it, on the coastline itself, are the cities of Gijon and Aviles . Even small towns on the Costa Verde, such as Ribadesella , Villaviciosa , Llanes or Cudillero , are not deprived of the attention of tourists.
