Biography
Born in 1845 in the family of a Lutheran clergyman Jan Krushvitsy in the Serbluzhitsky village of Dolga-Borsch. From 1859 to 1866 he studied at the gymnasium in Budishin . Then he studied theology in Breslau and Berlin, and from 1870 to 1872 he studied at the Lutheran seminary in Wittenberg . from 1872 to 1874 - vicar of the Lutheran parish in the Silesian city of Neustadt . After returning to Luzhitsa, he served as rector in the parish of the Serbluzhitsky village of Gbelsk (1874-1878) and from 1878 until his death, he was rector in the parish of the Lower Luzhitsa village of Verbno.
He maintained friendly relations with the Nizhny Luzhitsky writer Mato Kosyk . He published articles in the Nizhny Luzhnitsky newspaper “ Casnik ”. Having collected local history material, he published in German in 1911 in Cottbus the book “Geschichte der Kirche zu Werben”, an Upper Luzhsky translation of which under the title “Ze stawiznow Wjerbnjanskeje cyrkwje” was published in 1915 in the journal Časopis Maćicy Serbskej .
He collected folk Serboluga church hymns, which he published in 1883 as a separate book. Translated into the Lower Sorbian language “The Small Catechism” by Martin Luther. Together with Benjamin Begar, he translated liturgical texts into the Lower Sorbian language , which, since 1898, has been used in the Serb servant Lutheran parishes of Prussia.
In 1880, he was one of the founders of the Lower Luzhsky branch of the Maśica Serbska cultural and educational society, which he chaired until his death in 1919.
