Description
Wingspan 33-45 mm. The background color of the upper side of the maleβs wings is white or creamy white. The basal region, especially on the hind wings, is intensely blackened. The ends of the veins are dark. The top of the front wing is darkened. The front edge of the front wing is sprayed with dark scales. At the top of the central cell there is a narrow blackish spot. A spotted pattern of the underside of the wings is seen through the background of the hind wing. The main background of the femaleβs wings is pale yellowish or yellowish-cream, with dusting from dark scales. The dark pattern on the front wing is blurry, but more extensive than that of the male. The pattern on the lower side of the front wings repeats the upper side, but is much paler than it. The underside of the hind wings is gray-green with white spots and mottles of various sizes. The basal part of the wing can be almost spotless [1] .
Biology
Develops in one generation in a year. Meet infrequently. Flight time in June - early July. Caterpillars feed on cruciferous : gallows, lace-maker (Descurania). Pupa winters [1] .
