Biography
Girija is a Telugu movie actress and comedian of the 1950s and 1960s. She was born March 3, 1938 in the town of Kankipadu, which is now in the state of Andhra Pradesh . Her first film was Paramananda Sisul Katha (1950). She starred in many films with Relangi Venkatarmaeya and they became a famous comedic couple. The role of Patala Bhairavi in the hit of the same name in 1951 brought her a good name and provided many job offers over the next two decades. In the 1950s, she starred in several Tamil films.
Girija married S. Sanyasi Raju, they have a daughter Salima (born 4.11.1973), who became an actress.
